What does lead retrieval cost at Expo West 2027?

The 2026 XPress Leads order form ran $430 to $735 per device or package. The next edition's form typically drops with the exhibitor service kit.

Those are the 2026 numbers, so read them as the shape, not today's quote. The next edition's form typically arrives with the exhibitor service kit and the tiers tend to move a little.

The price steps up as the show nears: advance, then standard. The 2026 calendar cutoffs do not carry over, so treat the current service kit as the only source for real deadline dates. Note the per-device line: every extra scanner is another rental.

The badge

What does the Expo West 2027 badge actually encode?

Expo West has not published what its badge encodes. Assume an ID that only the XPress Leads scanner resolves.

New Hope's own 2024 lead-retrieval guide describes scanning a QR on every Expo West badge, but no public source for 2026 or 2027 states what that QR encodes. The 2026 XPress Leads form lets exhibitors upload badge images and handwritten badge IDs within 14 days after the show for a data services fee, which points to an organizer ID resolved in Maritz's system. Tendro reads the printed face by OCR and enriches the contact; it does not resolve the organizer's ID. A vCard or MeCard QR, if a badge carries one, decodes directly.

No universal app, Tendro included, decodes the organizer's encoded badge ID; what Tendro reads is the printed face, the name, title, and company, and enrichment fills the verified email and firmographics the badge leaves off. Same for business cards and QR codes.

So the honest limit carries its own fix: without the organizer's licensed access (the rented scanner or a paid event API) no app resolves the encoded ID, and OCR plus enrichment returns the named, verified contact without waiting on the rental. One more thing worth checking: exhibitor contracts vary on third-party capture policies, so read yours before the show.

The WiFi

Does the WiFi hold up at Anaheim Convention Center?

Anaheim Convention Center publishes no booth WiFi guarantee. Cisco's high-density WiFi guidance flags degradation past roughly 25 clients per radio.

With no venue guarantee, plan for the physics of the floor rather than a promised speed. Peak hours are exactly when your capture cannot stall.

Visit Anaheim says free Wi-Fi is available throughout the Anaheim Convention Center and names Smart City Networks as the building's on-site telecom partner; no current booth-internet rate sheet for the venue was found.

It gets worse under load. Show-floor WiFi is half-duplex, and per Cisco's high-density WiFi design guidance, a single access point degrades past roughly 25 clients per radio. The busiest hour on the floor is the hour the signal is thinnest.

What is the $499-per-event alternative?

Tendro is $499 per event with unlimited team members, never per device. A five-person booth pays one flat fee, not five rentals.

Expo West's 2027 order form is not out yet: the organizer says the GES exhibitor kit opens in November 2026. The 2026 sheet is the best guide, and its sharpest line is the price of each extra phone. Maritz XPress Leads charged $430 for one app activation through February 10, 2026 and $535 after, $610 then $685 for the three-activation package, and $565 then $685 for one rented handheld. Every activation past the three was $170, or $205 after the cutoff, where FABTECH, SEMA and PRI charge $145. A five-rep booth on its own phones came to $950 on the advance rate and $1,095 after, before delivery, printers or the $985 Event API line that moves your leads into your own CRM. The same booth on Tendro is $499 flat, however many phones. The vendor has also changed under exhibitors: the GES kit for the 2023 edition sent lead retrieval to STOVA and a three-license bundle in the exhibitor console, and by 2026 it was CDS's XPress Leads, after Informa made CDS its registration and lead-management vendor across North America.
